exploring Roses and Cadaqués

Flash back to summertime hues in the stunning villages of Rose and Cadaqués which sit are on the Costa Brava in Spain’s Catalonia region.

These pictures were taken on our 1st wedding anniversary and I have been meaning to put them on here for ages. We spent a glorious 5 days on the Costa Brava in a stunning little seaside town called Roses.

Where We Stayed

Almadraba Park Hotel  is truly magnificent. I have a guilty pleasure for the sleek 70’s architecture and the the positioning of this hotel, the way the light falls on the terrace during “gin o’clock” just as the sun is setting over the sea – well I meant it when I said magnificent.

Things To Do

If you are a Salvador Dali fan then I highly recommend visiting Cadaqués – a beautiful coastal town further north of Roses close to the french border. While there then you must visit Casa Museu Salvador Dali (his house) where you will be transported into the wacky and surreal world of the man himself. Tickets are really reasonable but I highly recommend booking online ahead of time. Try and avoid the height of summer due to the overload of tourists!

Where to Eat

This summer we met with our friends Diana and Max in Cadaqués for a delicious lunch at Bistrovino Cadaques . All I can say is wow. This cozy little bistro in the centre of the town has the most fabulous chef and manager. The food is made from fresh locally sourced organic produce and everything you eat is homemade. The service and the atmosphere were superb. Go there, now.
